South Florida Lindy Collective (also referred to as “Lindy Collective” or “SFLC”) began in 2010 as a Facebook group to maintain and build a community interested in dances of The Swing Era (namely, Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing/Jitterbug, Charleston, Balboa, and Blues). SFLC also endorses music and culture of The Swing Era and exposes its members to resources available that may have been unknown or overlooked.
South Florida Lindy Collective organizes social dances in North Miami Beach on the 1st & 3rd Fridays of each month (except January and November) which include a beginner lesson at 8pm. In addition to its own events, SFLC recommends other events in South Florida that may appeal to its members.
In 2012, South Florida Lindy Collective became a domestic not-for-profit corporation. SFLC is volunteer-based and requires financial support from members, like you, to continue its mission to preserve swing dancing and culture in South Florida.
