Vintage Swing Celebration

South Florida Lindy Collective presents Vintage Swing Celebration, an annual event to bring together hundreds of swing dance and music enthusiasts from across the nation to spotlight The Swing Era and accentuate community instead of the differences that set people apart.

South Florida Lindy Collective is a non-profit organization that preserves swing dancing – providing a better quality of life by promoting social interaction, improving mental and physical health, and personifying the art, culture, and history of America’s past. Donations can be made by phone at 786-664-SFLC.

For more information on South Florida Lindy Collective, please visit www.lindycollective.com. Proceeds will benefit SFLC programs and projects.

Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council.

Vintage Swing Celebration is an “Official Broward 100” event!  #broward100

  • In Jacksonville since the early 50’s we called it Beach Bop: smoooooth lots of turns no jumpy jumps
like the classic Lindy! We had in June/ Jacksonville for about
8 years up to recently “Boogie on the riverwalk” one long weekend, Dancers came from groups/shaggers/clubs like yours from all over the south Best dancers ever! I’m 86 now/lots of memories/not much of a future/my family lived in Miami Beach in the 30’s!
Good luck and best wishes to your group!!!
